Duties
- Organize, file, and retrieve patient medical records efficiently using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Ensure all medical records comply with legal, regulatory, and organizational standards for confidentiality and accuracy.
- Update patient information promptly following appointments, treatments, or hospital stays to maintain current records.
- Review incoming documentation for completeness and accuracy before integrating into the EHR system.
- Assist healthcare providers with accessing patient histories and medical data during clinical workflows.
- Maintain meticulous logs of record requests, disclosures, and updates to ensure audit readiness.
- Support the transition to new EHR platforms by participating in training sessions and updating procedures accordingly.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a medical office or healthcare environment is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or similar platforms is essential.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology to accurately interpret and document clinical information.
- Proven ability to manage medical records with confidentiality, organization, and attention to detail.
