Medical Receptionist Jobs in Bethesda, MD at United Theranostics
Medical Receptionist — United Theranostics
We’re bringing cancer care closer to home.
United Theranostics is building a network of nuclear medicine clinics that deliver precision molecular imaging and targeted radionuclide therapies right in patients’ local communities — care that used to require traveling to a major academic center. We’re growing fast, and we need a Medical Receptionist who brings warmth, professionalism, and the organizational instincts to support a busy physician practice.
The role in plain terms
This is a high-visibility, high-impact role that goes well beyond traditional front desk duties. You’ll be the first point of contact for patients, business guests, clinical trial sponsors, and visitors — and the tone you set in those first moments shapes every interaction that follows. You’ll also serve as a critical scheduling and coordination resource for our physicians, keeping daily operations running seamlessly.
What your week actually looks like
Delivering an exceptional patient and guest experience You’ll greet patients and visitors with genuine warmth and professionalism, escort guests personally rather than pointing them in the right direction, and ensure every arrival feels expected and well cared for. You’ll keep physicians informed of guest arrivals in a discreet, professional manner and respond to patient inquiries with empathy and a commitment to exceptional service.
Keeping registration airtight Patient registration, demographic entry, insurance verification, copayment collection, EHR data entry, HIPAA-compliant records management — these are your domain. You’ll make sure every patient is fully registered and that no detail slips through the cracks.
Being the scheduling anchor for our physicians You’ll own physician calendars — organized, conflict-free, and always current. When schedules shift, you’ll communicate updates proactively so the clinical team is never caught off guard. You’re the connective tissue between the front desk, clinical staff, and the physicians they support.
Keeping operations running smoothly Incoming calls, emails, packages, deliveries, office supplies, clinical trial visitor logistics — the operational details that keep a clinic humming. You’ll handle them reliably so that everyone around you can stay focused on patient care.
What you bring
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Associate degree or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare or medical office required.
- Strong communication skills, with an innate ability to empathize with patients.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Adaptable to high-pressure environments with the ability to perform under stress.
- Capable of exercising independent judgment and handling confidential information responsibly.
Why this role is worth a look
You’ll be at the center of a company doing something that genuinely matters — bringing advanced cancer care to patients who’d otherwise have to travel hours to get it. This is a role where your work is felt by every patient who walks through the door and every physician you support. The work is real, the impact is real, and the growth runway is significant.
