About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized, detail‑oriented Medical Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for patients in a busy medical office. This position plays a key role in delivering excellent customer service and ensuring smooth daily operations.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly, professional manner
- Answer and route incoming phone calls
- Schedule and manage patient appointments
- Verify patient information and insurance coverage
- Collect co‑pays and process payments
- Maintain and update patient records
- Perform administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning
- Coordinate referrals to specialists or other healthcare providers
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and protect patient confidentiality
Required Skills & Experience
- Proficient with multi‑line phone systems
- Experience using EMR systems (eClinicalWorks, Epic, Dentrix preferred)
- Strong administrative and data‑entry skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Knowledge of medical terminology (preferred but not required)
- Previous medical or dental office receptionist experience is a plus
