Immediate Hire – Full-Time Medical Receptionist (Will Train)
We are looking for a dependable, friendly, and motivated Full-Time Medical Receptionist to join our small, team-oriented medical office. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience and learn all aspects of a medical practice — prior experience preferred but not required. We are happy to train the right person!
Schedule:
Monday – Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Saturday: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Full-Time Position
Starting Pay:
$18 per hour

Duties
- Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage check-in and check-out procedures using EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks
- Verify patient insurance coverage through insurance verification processes and update patient records accordingly
- Schedule appointments accurately utilizing medical scheduling software and coordinate with healthcare providers to optimize daily clinic flow
- Collect and process payments, including medical collections, ensuring accurate documentation of transactions
- Review and update medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive health information
- Assist with intake procedures, including gathering patient histories and updating demographic information
- Manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism, providing clear communication and directing calls appropriately
- Support medical billing and coding activities by understanding CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10 codes, and performing basic medical coding tasks
- Maintain organized filing systems for medical records and office documentation to ensure quick retrieval and compliance with legal standards
- Perform clerical duties such as data entry, typing reports, filing documents, and using Microsoft Office tools to support office management
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, CPT coding, and Medicare guidelines
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix or Eaglesoft;
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and health information management practices
- Excellent patient service skills with a friendly demeanor and effective phone etiquette in multi-line phone environments
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Prior clinic or dental office experience demonstrating familiarity with medical office management and front desk operations
- Skilled in medical billing, insurance verification processes, and documentation review to ensure accuracy in care plans and billing procedures
- Competent in computer skills including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel), 10-key typing, filing systems, and general office software applications
- Ability to handle high-volume intake procedures while maintaining attention to detail under pressure
- Strong organizational skills for managing medical records, appointment schedules, and administrative support tasks
