Key Responsibilities

Reception & Patient Interaction

  • Greet and assist patients in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Manage the reception area and ensure a welcoming environment.
  • Handle patient queries in person, telephonically, or via email.

Appointment Management

  • Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments.
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date appointment diary.
  • Manage cancellations and rescheduling of bookings.

Telephone Management

  • Answer incoming telephone calls promptly and professionally.
  • Direct calls to the appropriate person where necessary.

Patient Administration

  • Open new patient files and ensure all required patient information is captured accurately.
  • Maintain and update existing patient records while ensuring confidentiality.
  • File and manage patient documentation in accordance with practice procedures.

Administrative Support

  • Assist the doctor with administrative tasks where required eg:
    Managing of emails.
  • Process patient payments and issue receipts where applicable.
  • Assist doctor with dispensing and clinical duties when required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must have previous experience in a GP Medical Practice.
  • Mature, responsible, and professional demeanour.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Computer literacy and ability to work with medical practice software.
  • High level of confidentiality and professionalism.

Working Hours

Monday to Thursday, 09:00 – 18:00, Friday 09:00 – 17h00.
