Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Assistant/Receptionist, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage check-in and check-out processes using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
  • Obtain accurate patient histories, perform intake assessments, and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration.
  • Assist healthcare providers with clinical procedures including medication administration, X-ray preparation, and basic life support when needed.
  • Support inpatient and outpatient services across various specialties such as internal medicine, geriatrics, medical-surgical units, or emergency medicine settings.
  • Manage appointment scheduling, patient follow-ups, and coordinate referrals while maintaining organized records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Perform basic physiology and anatomy assessments to support accurate documentation and ICD coding for diagnoses.
  • Handle administrative duties such as answering phones, managing patient inquiries, verifying insurance information, and processing billing documentation.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar clinical support role within hospital medicine or outpatient clinics.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, and medication administration protocols.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems and proficiency in managing patient intake, vital signs recording, and documentation accuracy.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as X-ray tech or OR experience are a plus.
  • Experience working in hospital settings including Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills with a focus on patient service excellence; ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments like urgent care or emergency medicine units.
  • Ability to adapt to diverse clinical environments including inpatient units like PICU or Geriatrics wards and outpatient clinics across multiple specialties. Pay: $17.00 – $20.00 per hour
