Hours of work per week
: Up to 35 hours per week


Business/Work Hours:
8:30 am – 4:30 pm (with ½ hour unpaid lunch)


Pay Rate:
$13.00/hour


General Description:

This position is part of the Mayor’s Summer Youth Jobs Program for individuals aged 16-20 years old. Employment dates are June 8, 2026, through July 31, 2026, with potential extensions based on availability and departmental needs. This position works under close supervision and performs duties according to established procedures.


Responsibilities, tasks, and projects:

  • Assist with data entry and maintaining HR records.
  • Support HR staff with special projects and research tasks as assigned.
  • File and organize employee documents, both physical and digital.
  • Assist in coordinating summer youth programs and activities as needed.
  • Perform general office duties including answering phones, greeting visitors, and sorting mail.
  • Assist with updating employee information and verifying records for accuracy.
  • Maintain inventory of office supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by the HR Director


Candidate requirements:

  • Must be between the ages of 16 and 20.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks
  • Ability to bend, stoop and lift up to 20 pounds.


Dress Code:

Employees are expected to dress in business casual attire. Acceptable attire includes slacks, khakis, collared shirts, blouses, and closed-toe shoes. Shorts, t-shirts, athletic wear, flip-flops, and other overly casual items are not permitted. Employees should maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times.

  • Must have the ability to provide documentation verifying legal work status.

  • Ability to understand and comply with City and departmental guidelines, policies, procedures and expectations.
