Job Description

Texas Biomedical Research Institute is seeking a Laboratory Office Coordinator to provide administrative and operational support within a biomedical research environment. This position supports laboratory departments by coordinating office activities, maintaining records, assisting with scheduling, and helping ensure smooth day-to-day operations across research teams.

The ideal candidate is organized, professional, and capable of handling multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced workplace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to laboratory and operations teams
  • Maintain accurate electronic records, files, and documentation
  • Coordinate calendars, meetings, and departmental schedules
  • Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and internal communications
  • Assist with purchasing requests and office inventory management
  • Process incoming mail, shipments, and supply orders
  • Support onboarding documentation and staff coordination
  • Answer phones and respond to general administrative inquiries
  • Follow organizational policies and confidentiality standards

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior office administration, coordinator, or support experience preferred
  • Strong typing, computer, and organizational skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent communication and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
