THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Human Resource Assistant 2, you will play a key role in supporting talent acquisition and human resource operations. This includes coordinating recruitment and hiring activities for seasonal, intern, and permanent positions while ensuring processes are completing accurately and efficiently. You will be responsible for preparing requisitions, reviewing referrals, scheduling interviews, conducting background checks, and processing hiring actions in the database. You will have the opportunity to partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and support seasonal programs such as winter maintenance, student interns, and high school intern initiatives. Work also involves providing exceptional customer service and HR support by responding to inquiries, generating reports, assisting with recruitment events, and coordinating programs such as job shadowing and temporary work out of classification assignments. Additional responsibilities include:
- Coordinating employee performance reviews
- Maintaining position descriptions
- Ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures
- Processing and reviewing HR transactions for actions such as promotions, separations, reclassifications, and supervisory changes
- Assisting with new hire in-processing, employment eligibility verification, and maintaining electronic personnel files

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $45,907.00 (before taxes).- You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Human Resource Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- One year of clerical or other comparable experience and one year of beginning level paraprofessional human resource or equal opportunity work; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
