Hospice Volunteer (Unpaid)
Join Heartsong Hospice volunteer team and provide companionship and support to the patients that need it the most. We provide a variety of volunteer opportunities that is structured to different skills and interests. You can make a difference in many ways to our patients and their families.
Responsibilities
Hospice volunteers are members of the patient care team and provides support and companionship to patients and their families in individual’s homes and long term care communities.
This is a great opportunity to support the local community, while gaining experience!
Responsibilities are based on organizational needs and your interests:
- Provide services according to the rules and standard of practice
- Provide and environment which promotes respect for the patient and their families, and privacy
- Patient companionship
- Provide preparation of meals or assist with household chores
- Provide clerical support to office staff
- Serve as a Veteran Volunteer
Requirements
- Compassionate person
- Must be 16 years or older
- Must be able to pass a background and drug screen
- Must complete 16 hours of volunteer/ hospice training
- Must have reliable transportation
