This position will assist with answering the phone, scanning, faxing and other clerical duties.
Orders Responsibilities:
- Prints plans of care/orders/evaluations daily from print queue. Forwards plans of care/orders/evaluations to clinical support staff for scheduling/verification/authorization.
- As plans of care/orders/evaluations are signed and returned to the agency, evaluates each signature for compliance (physician signature and date of signature in all areas required). Compliant documents are checked back into EMR, changing their status to “Returned with Signature”. If noncompliance is determined, sends document back to the physician with instructions for correction.
- Is responsible for the overall management and timely retrieval of outstanding, unsigned physician orders. Evaluates OM reports daily to identify and facilitate the retrieval of outstanding orders. Documents multiple agency attempts to obtain physician signatures, as needed. Enlists the assistance of clinical support staff, marketing staff and supervisors as needed to ensure the plans of care/orders/evaluations are signed and returned to the agency promptly.
- Ensures that all forwarded plans of care/orders/evaluations are scheduled/verified/authorized in a timely manner and returned to orders management (OM) staff to be sent out to physician for signature. Once returned to OM, plans of care/orders/evaluations are to be checked out of the EMR – changing their status to “Sent to Physician”.
