Job Summary
The Marshall Assessor’s Office is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable individual to join our team in the Gas & Oil/Deed Transfer Department. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate property records, processing deed transfers, and supporting assessment functions related to mineral interests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, interpret, and process property deeds and related legal documents
- Accurately update ownership records in the assessment system
- Assist with gas and oil ownership tracking and record maintenance
- Verify property descriptions, parcel data, and transfer information for accuracy
- Communicate with attorneys, title companies, and the public regarding deed transfers and property records
- Provide general office support, including data entry, filing, and customer service
Qualifications:
- Ability to read and interpret legal descriptions within deeds is required
- General understanding of the deed transfer process and property ownership principles
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping
- Proficient in basic computer systems and office software
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Prior experience in a government office, real estate, title work, or related field is preferred
