Front Desk Receptionist Jobs in Enid at Leonardo’s Children’s Museum
Job Purpose:
The position of Front Desk Receptionist is one of vital importance to the overall success of our museum. The ideal person for this position is one who is a “natural salesperson” with varied employment and educational experiences. The major function of this team member is to make sure museum is ready to open each day, welcome guests on the phone and in person, promote Leonardo’s programs, track all transactions during the day, balance finances with the end of day report, keep gift shop area tidy and stocked, and work with Operations Manager to manage gift shop inventory and sales.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow daily, weekly, monthly, and annual checklists for the front-desk/gift shop position including, but not limited to:
- Works closely with the Operations Manager and floor staff to prepare the museum for opening each day.
- Warmly greets all guests to the museum whether on the phone or in person.
- Records all transactions and attendance accurately in the computer and records the daily deposit.
- Schedules birthday parties in the computer
- Works closely with the Operations Director to maintain adequate gift shop merchandise.
- Inventories, prices, and stocks all merchandise.
- Encourages guests to purchase museum memberships.
- Encourages guests and members to participate in programs.
- Communicates with Program and Events Coordinator regarding programs.
- Keeps Outlook calendar and Website Calendar updated at least two months in advance.
- Completes an inventory at the end of the fiscal year and at the end of the calendar year and otherwise as needed.
- Completes a monthly report to the Operations Manager regarding # of guests, members, sales, events, etc.
- Other, as directed, by the Operations Manager or Operations Director.
Qualifications:
Front Desk Receptionist must be at least 18 years of age and be eligible to work in the United States. All employees must understand Oklahoma is an ‘Employment at Will’ state and what that implies. Employees will thoroughly understand and sign the employee handbook to assure following of procedures and protocols.
Qualifications include:
- Able to cheerfully welcome ALL guests.

- Have patience with the public.
- Ability to follow directions.
- Be able to make good safety judgements.
- Some computer knowledge, including word, excel and google docs/sheets.
- Ability to remain professional when handling difficult situations & difficult guests.
- Capable of multi-tasking.
- Ability to count and handle money honestly and accurately.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the organizational flow chart.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
Front Desk Receptionist will be required to sit/stand for long periods of time. Availability for all shifts is expected unless otherwise arranged with supervisor. During holidays and special events our facility requires all staff to be available in order achieve our mission.
