Driver/Warehouse Associate Jobs in Syracuse, NY at Champion Millwork, Inc.
We are looking for a responsible Driver – Shipping Associate to inspect finished product, prepare shipments and deliver finished product . You will be responsible for loading and delivering finished product to the job site. Coordinate with project manager(s), prepare delivery notes, deliver product and return completed paperwork. Shipping associate must have a great eye for detail and basic math skills. They must have adequate physical strength to load shipments as well as the clerical skills to update records and follow up with office staff.
Responsibilities
- Inspection and storing of finished product in the warehouse
- Collaborate with office staff to prepare expected deliveries
- Upload product on trucks for delivery
- Inspect contents to ensure all loads are complete and match delivery notes
- Managing, organizing and retrieving finished product from the warehouse
- Operate fork lift truck, or use hand truck to move, convey or hoist shipments from shipping warehouse and production floor.
- Communicate with customers to verify shipment dates and time.
- Other duties as assigned
Skills
- Proven experience as shipping associate or similar position
- Experience in operating forklifts
- Working knowledge of computer programs for entering data
- Solid understanding of health and safety regulations
- Basic math and recording abilities
- Excellent organizational skills
- Great communication and interpersonal abilities
- Keen eye for detail
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
- Valid driver’s license and a good driving record required. Truck driving experience required- 26′ Box truck. (CDL is not a requirement)
- Ability to communicate well orally and in writing with customers, vendors, and other contacts.
- Ability to use shipping department computer system, calculator, motor-vehicle, and tier-lift and hand trucks
- Ability to use mechanical tools such as crimpers, pliers, wrenches and tape measure
- Ability to bend, stoop, walk, sit, stand, and lift 50 lbs.
- Good physical condition
- High school diploma
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 – $23.00 per hour
