Dispatcher – Imlay City, MI
Pay: $18/hr
Schedule: 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, Monday–Friday (Must be open to overtime and working some Saturdays)

We are seeking a reliable and organized Dispatcher to support daily shipping and receiving operations. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate truck drivers and yard personnel in a fast‑paced environment.
Position Overview
The Dispatcher will work in the dispatch office, checking drivers in and out, directing them to the correct loading areas, and ensuring all safety procedures are followed. This position plays a key role in maintaining smooth logistics flow, accurate documentation, and clear communication between drivers and yard staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Check in and check out all truck drivers arriving for pickups or deliveries
- Direct drivers where to go in the yard to pick up materials for customer orders
- Communicate safety rules and ensure drivers follow all loading/unloading requirements
- Print and prepare all required documentation, including pick tickets, bills of lading, and labels
- Maintain constant communication with yard workers regarding incoming drivers and materials
- Ensure all paperwork is signed and completed before drivers leave the office
- Log incoming loads for inventory tracking
- Close out orders in the system and organize shipment paperwork
- Schedule outgoing shipments, including contacting customers and drivers to coordinate delivery times
- Utilize systems such as Shipper Guide, Open Dock, and SAP (experience is a plus)
Qualifications
- Professional demeanor with a positive, customer‑focused attitude
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and manage a steady flow of drivers and paperwork
- Basic computer skills; experience with logistics systems is a plus
- Dependable and able to work independently
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 – $21.00 per hour
