Position summary

The Deputy Business Director plays a critical role in supporting the operational and administrative functions of the Miami office. This individual will work closely with the CAO, Co-Managing Shareholders, and various department managers to ensure efficient office operations, a positive workplace culture, and high standards of client service. The Deputy Business Director will collaborate with firm leadership and cross-functional teams, assisting with office management, staff engagement, and compliance with firm policies.

This position requires a proactive and adaptable professional with strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills. This role will be based in our Miami office on an in-office basis; presence is required for day-to-day operations, as well as for team meetings, training opportunities, and relationship building.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the CAO, Co-Managing Shareholders, and leaders of the Talent Services, Marketing, Technology, Facilities, and Revenue Management teams to ensure effective business operations
  • Assists in the oversight and coordination of Miami operational and administrative managers, working with national department directors as needed
  • Provides administrative support to the CAO and Co-Managing Shareholders, including performing analysis, developing reports, gathering information, and anticipating operational needs
  • Drafts and distributes officewide communications and policies in collaboration with the CAO; monitors and enforces adherence to firm and office policies
  • Participates in office accounting, finance, and revenue management activities and plays a key role in the office budgeting process
  • Partners with the Talent Services and Talent Acquisition teams to attract, develop, and retain both attorneys and professional staff
  • Coordinates and oversees the annual staff and associate compensation review processes with the CAO, Co-Managing Shareholders, and Talent Services team
  • Serves as a liaison with the Marketing, Technology, Information Governance, Office Services, Hospitality, Reception, and Facilities teams to ensure a high level of client service and resolve daily operations issues
  • Partners with the CAO in office expansion, renovations, space planning, and office assignments/relocations activities
