We are seeking a dedicated and professional Dental Receptionist to join our healthcare team. As a Dental Receptionist, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and medical records with precision and care. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft.
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare and Medicaid, ensuring accurate billing processes.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out procedures efficiently while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Handle multi-line phone systems with professionalism, providing clear and courteous communication.
- Maintain accurate and organized medical records, including documentation review and filing of dental and medical information.
- Assist with billing procedures, including medical collection processes, CPT coding, ICD coding, and Meditech or Epic EMR systems documentation.
- Support office management tasks such as inventory control, filing, and maintaining a clean, organized front desk area.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth patient intake processes and care plan documentation.
- Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills such as Microsoft Office Suite and dental software like Dentrix or Eaglesoft for efficient office operations.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a dental clinic or healthcare setting is highly preferred; clinic experience is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, CPT coding, and medical billing procedures.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth, or similar platforms.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly under HIPAA guidelines.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively serve diverse patient populations.
- Proficient in office management tasks including appointment scheduling, insurance verification, filing, and data entry using 10-key typing skills.
- Demonstrated clerical experience with multi-line phone systems and front desk operations.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and medical records management.
