Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist to join our dynamic dental team. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, verify insurance coverage, and facilitate smooth patient check-in and check-out processes.
- Schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software, we use Open Dental. such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, coordinating with clinical staff to optimize patient flow.
- Verify insurance benefits, process claims, and handle billing inquiries.
- Manage medical records and documentation review to ensure accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Answer multi-line phone systems professionally, providing excellent customer service while addressing patient questions and concerns.
- Assist with insurance verification, pre-authorizations, and collection of payments.
- Maintain organized filing systems for dental records and support office management tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a dental or medical office environment is highly preferred but not required; clinic experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and health information management systems such as open Dental.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing skills (10 key typing).
- Exceptional phone etiquette with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems confidently.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and medical administrative support tasks.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security.
