We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dental Office Receptionist and Insurance Coordinator to join our vibrant dental practice. In this pivotal role, you will be the friendly face and efficient organizer at the front desk, ensuring smooth patient flow, accurate insurance processing, and exceptional customer service. Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly upon arrival, verify appointment details, and assist with check-in procedures using Carestream Softdent software.
  • Professional phone etiquette, scheduling appointments, and addressing patient inquiries promptly.
  • Verify insurance coverage by conducting insurance verification and explain coverage details to patients clearly.
  • Process insurance claims (EOBs) accurately by applying CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies.
  • Review medical records and documentation for completeness and accuracy; update patient files in Softdent.
  • Handle billing procedures including dental collection efforts, and dental billing tasks to ensure timely payments.
  • Maintain organized filing of patient records, insurance documents, and office supplies while adhering to health information management standards.
  • Support clinic operations by assisting with medical scheduling, intake procedures, and front desk administrative support tasks.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure care plans are documented accurately and all documentation review processes are followed diligently.

Skills

  • Extensive experience with dental office management software
  • Strong knowledge of health insurance processes including verification, claims submission, medical collection procedures, Medicare billing, and HIPAA compliance.
  • Proficiency in CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding for accurate billing and documentation review.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in bilingual settings; fluency in additional languages is a plus.
  • Demonstrated clinic experience within a dental or medical environment; familiarity with dental terminology and clinical confidentiality policies.
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), typing (including 10-key), and electronic health records management.
  • Ability to handle phone systems efficiently while maintaining professionalism; strong organizational skills for filing and office management tasks.
