Fortier Dental Design is a family-oriented dental practice dedicated to providing exceptional patient care in a comfortable, welcoming environment. We are looking for a dependable, responsible, and motivated Front Office Receptionist/ Dental Assistant who is eager to learn and become a valued member of our team.

In this role, you’ll help create an outstanding patient experience by providing excellent customer service and supporting both our administrative and clinical operations. This is a cross-trained position, so you’ll have the opportunity to assist in both the front and back office as needed.

Front Office Receptionist Responsibilities:

  • Welcome patients and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Assist with new patient intake procedures, answering any pertinent questions.
  • Schedule appointments using Eaglesoft Dental Software.
  • Answer phones, and assist with front desk duties.
  • Verify and update patient information in electronic records.
  • Assist with insurance verification and filing EOB’s.
  • Collect and process patient payments , including Care Credit.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and assist with administrative tasks.
  • Follow all dental office policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient office environment.
  • Work collaboratively with the entire team to ensure a positive patient experience.

Qualifications:

  • MUST SPEAK SPANISH
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Basic computer skills (experience with Eaglesoft a plus)
  • Punctual, Dependable, responsible, and eager to learn.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and follow up with assigned tasks promptly.
  • Friendly, professional, and compassionate with patients.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team environment.
  • Willingness to assist wherever needed, in both clinical and administrative roles.

Dental Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and guide the patients to the dental operatory
  • Prepare customers for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort
  • Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed
  • Sterilize instruments according to regulations
  • Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry
  • Undertake lab tasks as instructed
  • Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
  • Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
  • Willing to multitask such as schedule appointments
  • Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures

Qualifications:

  • Some experience as a dental assistant is preferred
  • Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods (beneficial)
  • Understanding of health & safety regulations (beneficial)
  • CPR/BLS (must have or be willing to obtain)
  • Infection Control Certification (must have or be willing to obtain)
  • California Dental Practice Act (must have or be willing to obtain)
  • Dental X-ray Certification (must have or be willing to obtain)
  • Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing is a plus
  • Good computer skills
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Well-organized and reliable
  • High school diploma; graduating from dental assistant school is preferred

Experience:

  • No experience is required. We welcome newly trained dental assistants and are happy to provide on-the-job training for the right candidate. Pay: $18.00 – $25.00 per hour
