Location: Nicollet, MN
Pay: $22.00/hr
Schedule: 8-hour shifts scheduled Monday through Friday. Start times are flexible between 6:00 AM and 8:00 AM, based on candidate preference
The Data Entry Specialist supports the Production Planner in managing daily production operations. This role is responsible for executing schedule changes in the ERP system, closing work orders, tracking job progress, and assisting with administrative and coordination tasks to keep production running smoothly.
This is an excellent role for someone who is detail-oriented, systems-savvy, and comfortable working closely with both office and shop-floor teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Enter, release, and update work orders in the ERP system based on the production schedule
- Close completed work orders and ensure accurate job costing and material usage entries
- Track job progress and status; identify and escalate issues to the Production Planner
- Print and distribute work orders, schedules, and other shop paperwork
- Communicate with production supervisors and leads about job statuses and schedule updates
- Monitor inventory levels and flag potential shortages or discrepancies
- Assist with data cleanup and updates to BOMs, routings, and scheduling parameters in ERP
- Support reporting and metrics tracking for production performance
- Participate in production meetings as needed
- Perform general administrative tasks to support the planning function
Qualifications
Required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes accurately
- Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and data entry
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Willingness to work in both office and shop environments
Preferred
- Prior experience with work orders, BOMs, or scheduling in a manufacturing setting
- Familiarity with lean or continuous improvement practices
- Experience working with cross-functional teams (production, inventory, purchasing, etc.)
