The Office of the Public Defender is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Clerical Support Specialist to join our administrative team. This role is vital to our daily operations, providing essential administrative, clerical, and client service support in both office and court settings. What You’ll Do:

  • Client & Community Support: Act as a primary point of contact by answering incoming calls professionally and conducting client intake procedures in office and court settings. Help clients navigate procedures, share attorney contact info, and deliver messages.
  • Court Liaison: Attend court proceedings as needed to complete client intake, provide attorney support, and process fee payments in the field.
  • Data & Case Management: Perform accurate and timely data entry for critical case tracking (court dates, bond information, charges, attorney communication, and fee records).
  • Research & Documentation: Research case history, conflict checks, counsel determinations, and dockets. Prepare notices, pleadings, and client correspondence.
  • Collaborate: Communicate daily with co-workers, supervisors, attorneys, DA personnel, LPCC personnel, judges, and court clerks.
