RHS Job Title Clerical Aide Job Description

Location: This position is located in Mason Abbot and Snyder Phillips and Shaw Halls

As a Clerical Aide, you will perform routine clerical support while providing customer service to all residence hall students and customers, both in person and over the phone. You will also be responsible for maintaining the reception area and processing mail and packages. You will be considered the face of the residence halls while interacting with a wide range of students and customers.

You will learn “real world” work skills like time management, professional excellence, balancing of priorities, interpersonal communication, and working as a part of a diverse team. You will also gain a deep understanding of how an operation functions and how to build relationships while demonstrating outstanding customer service.

Typical Duties May Include

Provide routine clerical support within a residence hall reception area

Answer phones, process mail and packages, assist in maintaining records and accounts

Greet residents and guests

Provide in-house residence hall security and customer service throughout the day/night

Report and respond to incidents within the residence halls

This posting is for transitioning current student Service Center Representatives to On-Call employees.

Required Qualifications

Willing to be trained on all shifts, including day shift (6:45 a.m. – midnight) and overnight shift (11:45 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.)

Demonstrated commitment to outstanding customer service

Motivated self-starter and able to complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision

Good communication skills (written and verbal)

Positive and respectful, especially when working with a diverse population

Dependable and reliable

Must be able to work through finals week

Must be able to work nights/weekends

Must be able to return to campus two weeks before fall semester begins for training and staffing needs

Must have previous experience as a Service Center Representative with REHS.
