Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a CAMHS Secretary/Administrator to provide administrative support for our various multi-disciplinary teams within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS).

Duties will include providing secretarial/administrative support to the various multidisciplinary teams of the service, Primarily P-CAMHS and CORE CAMHS CMHT teams. You will be required to support the teams admin using the WCCIS system, working closely with the CAMHS Service Improvement Manager and SMT Admin Coordinator to support the service where required and overall supporting the referral to treatment (RTT) function within CAMHS.

The successful candidate must be flexible to the needs of the service and able to manage a varied work schedule, being able to work into the different teams as and when required.

Main duties of the job

To provide administrative support to the various multi-disciplinary teams within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services and working closely with the Service Improvement Manager and SMT Admin Coordinator.

This role involves communicating with families and children who are patients of the Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service. Post holders must have the interpersonal skills and resources to respond appropriately to enquiries where the caller/service user may be angry, distressed, or confused. Post holders also need to know how to respond to suspected or actual disclosures where Child Protection is a concern.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Experience and Knowledge of administrative procedures and systems. Experience and training to Vocational Level 3 or equivalent demonstrable experience

Desirable criteria

  • Secretarial Qualification, including mental health terminology

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Relevant proven secretarial/Admin Experience in public services Experience in dealing with the general public Audio typing experience

Desirable criteria

  • Secretarial experience within mental health/health setting Supervision of administrative/reception or health records team of staff

Knowledge and Skills

Essential criteria

  • Good knowledge of IT & Microsoft Office packages Good written & verbal Communication skills Strong numeracy skills Excellent organisational abilities

Desirable criteria

  • Medical system experience i.e CWS, Myrthin, epex, WCCIS, or good understanding of databases including Health Roster Knowledge and understanding of health records functions Ability to speak Welsh
