The Billing & Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of the payroll and billing processes. Key duties include ensuring accurate and timely payment of employees, preparing and submitting accurate invoices, resolving payment issues, and communicating with clients and staff to coordinate payments. Must maintain a high level of accuracy with a high volume of transactions and have a solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices.
Gathering information on hours worked for each employee
Calculating the correct amount of wages, including overtime, deductions, bonuses, and taxes
Receiving approval from upper management for payments
Managing company budgets and expenses
Tracking down how many hours an individual worked throughout their shift
Issuing paychecks promptly
Handling new employee set up in payroll software
Preparing, sending, and verifying invoices
Resolving discrepancies and handling all discrepancies with employees
Ensuring compliance with federal and state labor and tax regulations
An ideal candidate for this position is detail-oriented, able to handle numerical data accurately, and possesses strong communication skills to interact appropriately with clients, HR staff, and other employees.
Education And Experience
A bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or human resource management preferred or equivalent work experience.
Proven experience as a billing & payroll specialist or billing & payroll manager is beneficial.
Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and Windows)
Knowledge of billing & payroll software
Strong clerical and organizational skills
Understanding of tax and wage laws and common fiscal procedures
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
