Billing Manager for Allergy/Sleep/Psych Group practice Jobs in San Diego, CA at AKANE Institute of Allergy, Asthma & Sleep Medicine
AKANE Institute of Allergy, Asthma & Sleep Medicine is an Allergy, Sleep Medicine and Psychiatry Medical practice with 5 medical providers and offices in San Diego, Santee and Chula Vista. We have an immediate opening for a full time Billing Manager that will supervise our current team of 3 billers. We are a growing practice looking for a Billing Manager with expertise in full revenue cycle management and vision for growth.
We are looking for employees with excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, including exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Previous experience with Electronic Medical Record & Microsoft Office skills are required. Candidate must understand IPA’s, HMO, PPO insurance.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Charge entry for all clinical visits and procedures
- Sending out electronic claims via AVAILITY clearing house
- Understanding CMS 1500 claim form
- Downloading and posting electronic remittance advice/ERA
- Posting paper EOBs
- Mailing patient statements
- Balancing patient ledgers
- Posting patient payments
- Managing account receivable and calling insurances/patients with unpaid balances
- General clerical duties to include but not limited to: photocopying, faxing, mailing
- Checking Insurance Eligibility
- Following all office policies and procedures either written or verbal
- Understand and support the office’s HIPAA privacy practices and maintain confidentiality.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years experience working in a medical office as Biller/ Billing supervisor/Business manager
- EMR experience necessary
- Previous experience working independently
- Knowledge of insurance carriers & plans, IPA’S, PPO & HMO medical groups in San Diego
- AVAILITY clearing house proficiency
- NEED proficiency in Full revenue cycle management

Salary: $30-38 /hour
Pay: $30.00 – $38.00 per hour
