Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Billing Coordinator to join our team within a pediatric cardiology department in Miami, FL. This full-time, on-site role is responsible for supporting the daily physician billing process and ensuring accurate and timely charge processing.
This position plays a critical role in maintaining the efficiency of billing operations by working closely with patients, physicians, and billing teams to resolve discrepancies, verify information, and support reimbursement processes. It is ideal for individuals with billing, accounting, or healthcare administrative experience who thrive in structured, fast-paced environments.
Schedule & Shift
- Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
- On-Site, Full-Time
- Length of Assignment: 16 weeks
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Manage the daily physician billing process to ensure timely and accurate submission of charges
- Review billing documentation for accuracy, including CPT and ICD coding
- Match billing information with patient demographics and ensure completeness of records
- Prepare and submit billing batches, including printing, totaling, and sending to billing entity
- Act as a liaison for billing-related inquiries from patients, families, and internal teams
- Assist with resolving billing discrepancies and follow up on missing or incomplete charges
- Work with billing vendors and internal departments to ensure proper charge posting and collections follow-up
- Obtain payer authorizations for procedures as needed
- Stay current on insurance requirements, patient plans, and billing updates to support reimbursement
- Provide administrative support including faxing, filing, copying, and special projects
- Prepare quotes for international patients when applicable
Qualifications
- Previous billing, accounting, or medical billing experience required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn billing systems/software
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial information
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and internal teams
- Ability to explain billing and insurance information clearly to patients
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Spanish language skills are a plus
