The primary purpose of the Assistant Manager Business Services is to provide administrative support to the Executive Director Facilities, Maintenance & Construction. This position has administrative responsibility for office management, including, but not limited to, fiscal matters, purchasing, coordination of reports, management of staff, etc. It manages the performance and general operation of the hospital’s Operator Services department.

Responsibilities

Provide patient-centered service.

Supervise administrative support staff, including hiring, firing, promoting, transferring, disciplining, and evaluating performance.

Plan and schedule work of administrative support staff, ensuring effective utilization of resources within budget.

Maintain the Executive Director’s calendar and schedule, including meetings, conferences, and leave.

Coordinate fiscal procedures, ensure expenditures align with budgets, and handle procurement processes.

Collaborate with senior management on FEMA reimbursements and other projects related to Hospital Support Services.

Track capital projects (approximately $50 million scope), providing spending updates to leadership.

Assist other Hospital Support Services areas with purchasing issues and invoice audits.

Qualifications

Job Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Administration, Healthcare, or related field. At least 3 years of progressive administrative support experience, preferably in healthcare or large business, including budget and procurement responsibilities. Minimum 1 year supervisory experience. Excellent communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Additional experience may substitute for education.

Credential required: Bachelor’s Degree.

Physical Demands

Standing and walking for approximately 2/3 of the time; sitting over 1/3; manual dexterity for over 2/3; talking/hearing over 2/3; lifting up to 10 lbs. as needed. No special vision requirements.
