Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Administrative Assistant for the department of Student Affairs. The Administrative Assistant within the Dean of Students Office is responsible for implementing internal office procedures and guidelines to ensure that operational and administrative systems are maintained in an efficient manner consistent with university and office policies.

Among the key duties of the position are the following:
Assists in the scheduling of all student wellness outreach efforts, workshops, family meetings, and various unit meetings.
Performs office support tasks for the Associate and Assistant Deans for Case Management, including scheduling appointments, maintaining calendars.
Assists in the completion of new initiatives, special projects, and work needed to meet the goals of the Dean of Students Case Management Team.
Regularly works with Maxient (judicial database) and Titanium, which maintains student records, statistics, reports, and documents.
Assists in supporting the Dean of Students Case Management Team in research activities, perform fiscal support functions relating to student assistance funds.
Maintains a high degree of confidentiality and sensitivity in all department matters and will work independently toward continued improvement in the operation and functioning of the offices.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of office administration, organization, coordination, facilitation, bookkeeping and/or report writing.

Certifications/Licenses

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Requires good communication skills and computer literacy.

Preferred Qualifications
Prefers experience working with confidential medical and personal documentation.
