Job Summary and Qualifications

Position Summary: Monitors the flow of patient admission and placement activities in obstetrical units. Continually improves services and processes while performing clerical duties in support of the nursing unit.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Demonstrates the ability to adapt technique/treatment to age of population served, including newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, while providing care/service with respect to cultural differences and spiritual needs.
  
• Maintains daily logs of all inpatient check-ins, time of arrival, and time of scheduled procedures.
• 
  Assists with the care of the patient by performing a variety of clerical and support functions in a timely manner.
• 
  Schedules procedures including c -sections, inductions.
• 
  Admits patients and prepares patient charts.
• 
  Inputs billing for procedures and conducts order entry.
• 
  All Other Duties as Assigned.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
  
• Ability to perform clerical skills and phone etiquette
  
• Knowledge of basic computer keyboard functions
  

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

• 
  Knowledge of medical terminology
