ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT & RAILROAD TRANSLOAD OPERATOR

Gravity Rail LLC is looking for an Administrative/Clerical person who may also have Transload Operator experience. This position will be responsible for the record keeping of all documents and records corresponding to the unloading of bulk and liquid products from rail cars to Trucks, Iso-Containers, as well as loading products into Railcars from truck for delivery to customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Keep accurate and orderly records of all products received and disbursed per company requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain all documents needed for compliance with the Railroad DOT requirements.
  • When needed: Assist in the safe and timely unloading daily of bulk dry products and liquid products from rail cars to trucks, iso-Containers, as well as loading products into rail cars from truck for delivery to customers.
  • SAFETY: Comply with company and federal safety rules, policies and procedures to include wearing required safety equipment, responding to and acting on safety concerns.
  • COMMUNICATION: Obtain and receive information and act on oral or written instructions by various communication devices. Monitor and report daily.
  • Operates or learns to operate all transloading equipment, performs work safely and productively.
  • Responsible for maintaining safe and clean work environment by performing housekeeping and clean up on waste or spilled product complying with all Company procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 18 years of age or older or will be by the anticipated start date.
  • Available to work in geographic area indicated.
  • Able to read, write and communicate (speak, hear and understand) English.
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Work on-call, 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, including nights, weekends, holiday. Work may be seasonal for weather or business.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. frequently, 60 lbs. occasionally and up to 90 lbs. infrequently.
  • Able to use hands to perform activities involving holding, grasping, turning and pulling.
  • Able to work on uneven surfaces; frequently climb ladders and get on/off equipment; work at various heights above the ground including on top of locomotives, railcars, and other equipment.
  • Able to work in conditions with loud noise and fumes; work on/around heavy/moving machinery; bend, lift, walk, stand, sit for extended time; and use hand tools.
  • Follow safety policies and procedures; wear required personal protective equipment.SKILLS/TRAINING:
  • Desired Previous Training / Certification: OSHA, Hazwhoper, hazardous materials training. Familiar with DOT, PHMSA, EPA, FRA regulations.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

High school education or general education development (GED)

Ability to pass training and required testing, Physical, Drug Screen, and Background Check

Preferred 1 year or more of Experience.
