About The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Administrative Assistant to support our Client Legal Services Attorneys in the Nevada office. This role is vital in managing legal documentation, case files, and court-related activities to ensure smooth legal operations. The successful candidate will handle a variety of administrative and legal tasks, including entering and managing case data, coordinating attorney calendars, preparing pleadings, and maintaining case files. This position requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to work under pressure, and strong communication abilities to liaise effectively with courts, opposing counsel, vendors, and internal stakeholders. The role offers an opportunity to gain valuable exposure to legal processes within a dynamic, technology-driven environment while contributing to the strategic legal functions of Allstate.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a legal, litigation, claims, or professional services environment through work experience, internships, or administrative roles
  • Interest in or ongoing pursuit of legal knowledge, continuing education, or certification (e.g., coursework, law firm experience)
  • Basic understanding of legal documents and processes such as pleadings, filings, calendaring, and document management
  • Familiarity with the Nevada legal system is strongly preferred
  • Experience working with electronic filing systems, document management tools, and electronic correspondence
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent professional communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and related technology tools
  • Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changing priorities
  • Availability to work scheduled hours from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm PST

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive legal and administrative support to the Nevada office and Client Legal Services Attorneys
  • Open, maintain, and manage new lawsuits within case management systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Coordinate and manage attorney calendars, including court dates, deadlines, depositions, hearings, and case management orders
  • Prepare, draft, file, and serve pleadings and legal documents in both paper and electronic formats, including e-filing in Nevada courts
  • Process and manage high volumes of electronic correspondence related to pleadings, filings, and court communications
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for courts, opposing counsel, vendors, and internal stakeholders, maintaining professional communication
  • Organize, index, and maintain case files, ensuring version control and compliance with legal standards
  • Draft routine correspondence and legal documents for attorney review and approval
  • Monitor case deadlines and procedural requirements to ensure timely filings and procedural compliance
  • Anticipate legal and administrative needs, demonstrating initiative and ownership of assigned tasks
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to support case progression and legal operations
