Description
General knowledge of office or work unit procedures, methods, and practices. Ability to work with a group or independently, to learn and apply policies, procedures, and guidelines, and provide quality customer service with courtesy and tact. Ability to use a variety of office equipment. Be proficient at recording and compiling information based on general guidelines. Be able to gather and disseminate information and instructions regarding the work process or procedures, and the ability to learn to use specialized office equipment and software.
- This involves running reports, sending letters, answering questions from citizens, and compiling the paperwork required for the REHS to complete the inspections.
- Facilitate the Temporary Food Service Establishment program by communicating with organizers, vendors, and participants. Receive applications from vendors and review them for completeness. Collect associated fees for permits and assist the REHS with day-of-event inspections, as needed.
- Manage the filing system physically and digitally. Research GIS, parcel records, and permit records to reconcile parcel splits and merges, properly index files, and associate permit data with the correct parcels affected by a parcel merge or split.
- Create and send monthly activity reports to the Onsite Section of NCDHHS
- Maintain up-to-date, accurate establishment inspection records to ensure the establishments are inspected following frequency guidelines.
- Collect and process incoming applications for both sections, ensuring accurate and complete applications are presented to the REHS for respective inspections.
- Document complaints and assign them to the appropriate section for response.
Minimum Education and Experience
Graduation from high school and demonstrated knowledges, skills and abilities gained through at least two years of office assistance /secretarial experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Special Comments
Typically, Monday-Friday 8 am-5 pm (40 hrs./wk.) Occasional weekend and after-hours work may be required.
Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required.
