Start your career in public service. The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS), Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) is seeking candidates for the position of Administrative Assistant 1.
This position is located in Ocilla, Irwin County, Georgia.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide general secretarial, clerical and administrative support to assigned area.
- Provide program, administrative, and/or technical assistance to customers and staff.
- Support routine administrative functions for the agency/office, such as travel expenses, car rentals, leases, vendors, contracts, telecommunications, building security, purchasing, billing/credit, inventory, property control, personnel, payroll, etc.
- Complete routine and special reports for county leadership.
- Track county data including staff compliance with training, equipment and supplies purchases and leases.
- Respond to requests from Regional Director’s office for data and information.
- Organize and schedule meetings for internal and external customers.
- Provide assistance and problem resolution to claimants, employers, staff, other agencies, and/or the general public.
- Research and resolve detailed program or client issues/questions.
- Prepare documents; may enter data and/or process documents and records.
- Research and/or resolve program or client issues or questions.
- May represent the manager in various matters.
- Receive additional training, as required, to gain full proficiency and experience in all areas.
- Operate standard office equipment as required to carry out duties.
- Perform other professional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of job‑related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Teams, Excel, and Word.
Employment Information
