Temporary Administrative Assistant – Membership Department
About the Role
LHH is partnering with a nonprofit organization to hire a Temporary Administrative Assistant to support their Membership Department. This role will focus on providing high-quality administrative support and customer service to both members and internal colleagues. It’s a great opportunity for someone who is organized, responsive, and enjoys working in a mission-driven environment.
Duration: 3-month contract (with potential to extend)
Location: Primarily remote (Washington, DC area)
Pay Rate: $24–$28/hour (based on experience)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Membership team
- Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate internal team activities
- Assist in tracking membership data and performance metrics; compile weekly and monthly reports
- Support internal communications (Slack, email, etc.) with timely updates and follow-ups
- Help prepare presentations, reports, and documentation for team initiatives
- Coordinate approvals and ensure smooth administrative workflows across departments
- Maintain and update membership databases, ensuring accuracy and data integrity
- Assist with processing memberships, renewals, and general member records management
- Handle incoming inquiries and provide customer service support to members and stakeholders
- Organize and maintain shared files, folders, and internal documentation systems
- Support meeting logistics, including preparing agendas, taking notes, and tracking action items
- Assist with special projects and ad hoc administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications
- 2+ years of admin support experience
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and collaboration tools
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
