Overview
A well-established family owned and operated mechanical plumbing business, with a broad client base, is seeking a skilled employee for the position of Accounting Clerk to join our dynamic finance team! We have been in business for over 40 years and perform a variety of services from basic building maintenance to large-scale retrofits and yearlong service contracts for residential and commercial buildings in San Francisco.
In this vital role, you will support all aspects of the full-cycle accounts receivable process including the accurate processing of financial transactions, maintaining essential accounting records, and ensuring compliance with established accounting standards and internal controls. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and skilled at maintaining positive client relationships while providing quality accounts receivable tracking and collection. Your expertise will help uphold the integrity of our financial data, contributing to the overall success of our organization. This position reports to the Accounts Receivable Manager.
Responsibilities
- Daily receivables preparation and organization
- Invoice preparation
- Track customer payments
- Matching invoices with payments
- Making and receiving credit card authorization calls from customers
- Account collections and aging report follow up
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries regarding billing
- Communicate directly with Operations in regard to customer complaints or disputes
- Create and apply appropriate adjustments and credit memos to customer accounts
- Keep accurate and organized accounting records and filing system
- Customer database organization & updating
- Quality control across systems
- Annual accounting projects including organization, house-keeping, etc.
Qualifications:
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

- Quick learner and self-motivated
- Ability to multi-task
- Accounting background desirable
- 2-3 years of relevant work experience
- Working knowledge of MS Office and Outlook 365
- Working knowledge of Google Chrome, Search and Maps
- Knowledge of Service Titan is a plus
- Knowledge of QuickBooks Accounting Software is a plus
- Knowledge of the geography of the San Francisco Bay Area is a plus
- Knowledge of plumbing a plus
Pay: $34.00 – $36.00 per hour
