Accounting Clerk Jobs in Bennington, VT at Lundgren Subaru of Bennington
We are seeking an accurate, detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our growing automotive dealership team in Southern Vermont. You will manage daily financial transactions, reconcile accounts, and support the dealership’s business office operations.
Prior accounting experience is strictly required. While automotive dealership experience (such as processing vehicle titles or service billing) is highly preferred, we will train the right candidate on our specific dealership management systems. CDK experience is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Process daily cash deposits and reconcile bank statements.
- Manage accounts payable (AP) by verifying, coding, and entering vendor invoices.
- Review accounts receivable (AR) ledger balances and follow up on outstanding collections.
- Finalize vehicle sales paperwork and filing.
- Assist the Office Manager with month-end closing procedures and financial reporting.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of professional accounting or bookkeeping experience.
- Education: An Associate’s degree in Accounting or Business is preferred. High School diploma with qualified experience accepted.
- Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard accounting software.
- Attributes: High mathematical accuracy, strong data entry speed, and strict attention to detail.
- Location: Reliable transportation to commute to our Southern Vermont dealership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry Experience: Past employment at a franchised car dealership or independent auto group.
- Software: Familiarity with Dealership Management Systems (DMS) like CDK Global, Reynolds & Reynolds, or Dealertrack.
